Class Description

This is an intermediate level handgun class to teach the student gun-handling skills and techniques, and to increase your ability and proficiency with a defensive handgun. The course will cover justification in the application of force in a self defensive scenario, as well as the necessary mindset.

Defensive Pistol I Requirements
  • Prerequisite: Previously completed Handgun I and Handgun II or equivalent private instruction.  This requirement may be waived if the student is able to demonstrate basic safe gun handling (please contact the Shooter's World Education department.)
  • Students must be 18 years of age or older
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Holster for primary side: preferably, a holster that can be easily drawn repeatedly.  Avoid holsters with multiple retention systems.
  • Ammunition carrier for belt
  • Ammunition: 200 rounds
  • Medium to full size handgun
  • 5 magazines (preferred) or a speed loader
  • You will receive additional information regarding this class upon registration
